# Hello, Kon'nichiwa, Hela, Grüezi.

Hello, Kon'nichiwa, Hela, Grüezi.

![moi](anime_me_s.jpg)My name is Anthony (AKA carmoda/xarmoda), I’m an open-source technology nerd and occasional advisor to government and business.

*This site represents my personal views. Although I have written academic, corporate and educational material, this is none of those things. You will not find peer reviewed work or citations here. If your lucky, there will be links for context.*

**Background**My family and I live on a modest 20 hectare farm in the in the Scenic Rim region of Queensland, Australia. I joke about having 'built the internet', although I think there is some truth to that statement. In the very early 90's I was coding some of the first 'world wide web' pages. Including the first online pizza ordering site, the first financial services website and one of the most popular interactive forums, the precursors to social media as we know it today. There were only a few of us back then, building what we believed was the future. ~ a benign one.

Today I remain an advocate of **open-source** software standards and **free speech**. I keep my technical skills sharp by cooking my own web services on **FreeBSD** and building the odd smart farm gadget. I hold particular importance to the design ideals of **elegance** and **robustness**.

I am dismayed at how social movements have hijacked science under the guise of altruistic concerns. I am concerned the left wing have harbour oppressors we fought against. With the cost of the average family home several times the wage of an average family, we are forced to tow the line and fight each other instead of the truly powerful. Once upon a time **environmentalists** cared about **habitat** and **clean water**, **socialists** about the **poor**.

I have a RedBubble shop: [here](https://www.redbubble.com/people/voncarmo/shop?asc=u).
